Coffs Harbour

My first major solo outing to an un familliar airport.

 

It's approximatly a 2 hour flight north following the coast line. By car it's exactly 395 Km.

Due to the close proximity on departure of Maitland, to the Williamtown military airport, the procedure is to follow a low level 1500 ft / 500m corridor. 

Once you can spot the city of Taree, resume a normal 3'500ft altitude flight along the cost to the north.

I had to let a commercial flight land first -

Qantas Link from Sydney. 

To avoid him , I was requested to turn over the sea abeam of  Sawtell

A very strong side wind - approx 35 knots

I needed to refuel here..

 

...and grab a sandwich and coke there.

I love the light effect here

From Hawks Nest southbound, procedure wants it that VFR aircrafts fly at 1'500 ft alt - to avoid military airspace again.

 

In this area I made my scuba diving rating too.
